The heart of the West – 5 modern westerns that are worthy of your attention
There are no films that are known to everyone, for it is the point of advising what has long been seen to the holes, I decided to talk about less famous, but no less interesting representatives of the genre than those who have already become a classic of the tape. IIIIII, the opinion on films presented here is IMHO, so you do not need to glow with righteous anger and say that the author advises a boring Nedokino for Starper.
The list contains modern and relatively modern films, because I so wanted. If the topic interests you and receives due approval, then soon you can write about older films.
Thanks for supporting my advantages of my previous (and, in fact, the first) topic, you are very cool, I did not expect such a response to my fabrications.
Hello everyone, Hello everyone. Imelman broadcasts. Until recently, it was generally accepted that Western in the cinema is slowly dying if he no longer died. Is it so? Only partly. Westerns really ceased to be massive, collecting millions of dollars of cinema (with rare exceptions, such as the last films of Tarantino and Injarrita) and quietly moved to the camp of Indo-Kino and TV shows, where they feel quite freely. I love this genre and therefore decided to share with you a couple of good representatives of his good representatives, because I believe that it is not alone in my love for the Wild West and someone will be very interesting. Therefore, not being distracted by excess trep, let’s start.
“Drum fraction”
5 modern westerns that are worthy of your attention
1. Angel Waterfall (Seraphim Falls – 2006)
Plot: The civil war is over, but not for https://sistersitescasino.co.uk/casinos/xl-casino/ everyone. A small detachment of hired shooters, led by the former colonel of the Confederates Army, Carver, is pursued by the ex-captain of the army of northerners of Gideon. The chase lasts more than one day, Gideon is wounded and exhausted, but still ahead of its enemies. What aroused such a strong hatred of Carver remains a mystery ..
Why is it worth looking: Despite the rather eminent cast (Pierce Brosnan, who creates Zhizhid is no worse than DiCaprio in the proliferate and tough as a sickle, you know what Liam Neeson himself), the picture at one time went into the box office absolutely imperceptibly, the audience ignored it, the critics praised restraint and, in fact, everything was on that. And in my opinion, the film was ignored absolutely undeservedly. This is a strong, well -played adventure thriller, with an entertaining storyline, rather brutal action and directly with magnificent surgical work. Well, this is one of my favorite kinisch, how many times have I reviewed it and not count. Here you can say right here if you attribute yourself to a small but proud tribe of western fans – see without hesitation, there is everything you need to make you squeak with delight.
2. Bone Tomagavk (Bone Tomahawk – 2015)
Plot: Four men go to the remote lands of the Wild West to save a group of prisoners from the caves of cannibals. (So, short and in the case)
Why is it worth looking: And, quite unexpectedly, Horror-westerne. At first glance, the “bone tomahawk” may seem the next penniless trash, which stands out of the total mass, only a place of action, and a bunch of famous actors, who are not clear how it was brought there and a strangely high rating among critics. Well, usually there is no longer a second glance, because from sin you will turn off the page of the film in the KinoPoisk from sin away and shudder further to look for what is more guessing, but richer. And this is a huge mistake, because the “bone tomahawk” was for me the main discovery of 2015. This is an insanely atmospheric horror, as well as real male cinema about harsh men who will demolish any obstacles for the sake of saving people who are dear. Moreover, everything is set right at the highest level, despite the penny budget, which you are not at all expectant from the director-departant. After such nagging of our directors about small budgets, I don’t want to listen, the “bone tomahawk” showed that the main thing is the desire to make a good film. And after watching, you are no longer surprised at the same number of famous persons in the frame, it is clear that they starred with great pleasure and laid out appropriately. And it is not surprising that with.Craig Zaler after his debut became one of the most promising directors of Hollywood and I will be extremely interested in seeing what he will shoot further. I am frantically advising to familiarize yourself with lovers of viscous and atmospheric horror in a non -standard wrapper in particular. And Kurt Russell is a charismatic charm.
3. Offer (The Propation – 2005)
Plot: Australia. 1880. A small town lives in fear, and the Vino Tom Arthur Burns, Kotyrey, will resign his dwellings to rob, go on and kill. To reassure the townspeople, Captain Stanley takes his two brothers hostages and makes an offer to the middle brother Charles to find and destroy Arthur, for this he will release the youngest from prison. To kill the leader of the gang is assigned to Christmas, otherwise not to demolish the violent head to the younger brother ..
Why is it worth looking: A proposal that cannot be abandoned is a rigid and brutal, very brutal criminal drama with an overwhelming amount of blood, hardcore and depressi, and just a worthy representative of the genre from the director of the “road” John Hilcoot. I advise Adovo to check out because everything is on the spot – the actors are super (and Guy Pierce even burns with napalm), directing at the level, amazing music and a bunch of all kinds of suitable. Why the film was somehow implicitly by Luda, it was strongly incomprehensible, because I sat with my eyes round with delight and just did not jump from the joy that I came across such a wonderful film. Excuse me that there is no constructive, but only only enthusiasm, but so much the “proposal” hooked me so much. So there’s nothing to sit down, there is nothing to sit down.
4. Appaluza (Appalooosa – 2008)
Plot: The story of two friends who are hired to protect the inhabitants of the same town, terrorized by the merciless owner of the ranch. However, their plans are destroyed by a charming widow ..
Why is it worth looking: Something is a lot of non -standard westerns, we dilute them with a classic western. The film “Appaluz” seemed to come from the past, the real standard, shot on all patterns of the past western, with appropriate pluses and corresponding minuses. Harsh cowboys, fatal beauties, showdowns – everything is here, and in pretty good quality, Ed Harris definitely took up the directing of the sleeves and did everything possible so that the picture was a success. If anything can be reproached for the picture, it is for too unhurried action, but this is the specificity of the genre, nothing can be done. As a result, we have a strong one, let it even without a claim for genius, film. You can even look at, enjoy watching too.
Speed -shot (Quick Draw – 2013)
Plot: Sheriff John Henry Hoyle and his deputy Ilai master the unknown science of forensics in Kansas of 1875.
Why is it worth looking: And according to tradition, the fifth is the series, and even a comedic. For me personally, the “speed shooting” was such a correct version of “a million ways to die in the Wild West”, because, unlike the film, the series does not spray into jokes about everything in the world and does not go too far with humor below the belt, but jokes in a strictly given topic – stamps and absurdities of films about the wild west. It is not always successful to joke successfully, but this whole booth looks at least funny, so I watched two seasons in one gulp and did not regret it. So if you were a little seriousness and even a certain pathos of westerns, then we ask for mercy – the adventures of two stupid lawyers will definitely like you.
Actually, this is all today. I hope that at least a couple of films presented you will like. Imelman was with you, until new meetings.
